I spent Thanksgiving in Captiva, Florida. I got to see my cousin, Ryan, who is venturing to London for 6 months to study starting early January. I'm so excited for him and reeeeeeally proud of him for doing it. There was a point yesterday (which is pretty much the same as every year) where my whole family was crammed into one room, eating and on their 4th or 5th glass of wine and were allll talking and laughing the Doyle-laugh at once. It's a little overwhelming but so amazing...Ryan and I stood in the doorway and looked around the room and then at eachother and laughed. My family is amazing. Two grandparents, 5 daughters, 5 husbands, 1 son, 1 wife, 17 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, two dogs, and friends of the family all in one crazy room eating dinner. There were two tofurkeys, two real turkeys, countless bottles of wine, trivial pursuit, poker, and laughing so hard my abs are sore today. Thanksgiving is never disappointing in my family.
However, I missed, what looked like, an amazing dinner in my apartment. Maybe there will be leftover tofurkey awaitin me...
Back to NY Monday!
