My Dad just called and told me they had to put my dog to sleep this morning. I guess everyone kind of says their dog was "part of the family," but he really was. We got him when I was in 7th grade for Christmas and I've still never met a dog that was smarter than he was. We knew he had cancer for the past month and I got to say bye to him when I was down for Christmas a few weeks ago. He did so good while I was visiting and didn't seem sick at all, and I got to take him out for a swim in the lake one last time. He got pretty bad after my brother and I left and by yesterday he couldn't even move his legs. When they put him down today, my dad said he could barely move anything but still was able to wag his tail. Me, my brother, and mostly my dad will miss him.
