Sleepy Jer

Sleepy Jer

EDIT: I feel like I should clarify before I have to explain this to anyone else...this is one of my best friends who was nice enough to let me crash at his place while I was in Florida. This wasn't right after we woke up...it was after I got up, left, drove around, got coffee and bagels, and came back and woke him up. Don't let your minds wander...

I barely live here.

Florida was driving fast, loud music, fun people, me time, and familiar heat and humidity.

So I am back in the ol' NYC. I had such an amazing, relaxing time in Florida. As far back as I can remember I've been dying to leave Florida and making a running list of things I hated about the whole state. Going back to visit made me realize how much I really love it...I guess that's easier to do when I know I'm not there for long. I got to hang out with sooo many of my favorite people while I was there...I was very happy to not have time for research, online classwork, or sitting around feeling sad about anything. In the week leading up to going to Florida I was really starting to lose it up here. I needed to get away from the city, from school, and from a few situations that were making me lose my mind. All that was quickly worked out being home but a whole other slew of issues arose that I need to deal with here. It's good though...and it feels really good to be on my own (good in the awful, scary, sometimes unbearable way). I took a million pictures that I will scan and post asap and a lot of other pictures that I am not thrilled with.

I guess it's a good thing Florida and I are on good terms because I'll be back from November 3-5, November 22-27, and December 23-30. It feels like I'm living in Florida and visiting NY.

Less words and more pictures soon.

Once upon a time a group of boys took a train to Coney Island.

Sometimes doing what's right for yourself is fucking heartbreaking.

My cats are taking turns bathing eachother and it's making my heart hurt a little.

I'll be in Florida starting friday morning going through the 24th.

I think I have to buy a Toyo Field Camera tomorrow (cha-chiiiiiing)

I should be working on my online class....what am I doing on here?

My tattoo is itching and owning my life.

Instant Replay

Outbreak
Outbreak, Daytona Beach 2006

Last night I made my way out to Long Island to see these guys and shoot for my new project. I was hoping to get to see Outbreak but some lame stuff happened and there was no microphone and no more time for them to play. I did get to hang out with fun girls and fun boys and hopefully got some decent pictures out of it. I had a rough start yesterday due to lack of planning, "oversleeping," and generally having too much fun so I got to Long Island much later then I should have and was unprepared to say the least. I need to get my shit together again.

Sunday the New Mexican boys were in town and we all ventured out to Coney Island. Pictures were taken and fun was had. I doubt Coney Island really ever disappoints. I wish those boys would come through town more often.

I've come to the completely obvious conclusion that I need to shoot much more than I am. I feel rusty and uninspired. So Tessa, Chris, and pretty much anyone else who is currently in my life...get ready for my camera in your face.

In other news...tattoo day is tomorrow. My tattoo v-card is about to be revoked.
